2 Days Lake Mburo National Park and Cultural Experience
Enjoy this thrilling 2-day adventure to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest yet incredibly captivating park. Famous for its zebra population and as the only park hosting impalas, you’ll also encounter elands, klipspringers, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, and the elusive leopard. Spanning 370 sq. km, its diverse landscape features savannah, acacia trees, rolling hills, and rich wetlands. Home to 69 animal and 332 bird species, it’s a paradise for nature lovers, just four hours from Kampala—perfect for a quick weekend escape.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
Depart from the Airport or your hotel early in the morning to start your safari. You will drive past many small towns, villages and farms, trading centres and roadside markets. Make a stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for some classic Uganda Equator photography.
You will reach Lake Mburo just around lunchtime. After your lunch and check-in start your adventure.
Head out for the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo. The boat cruise is great for closer encounters where you see hippos and crocodiles as well as a variety of aquatic birds including Pelicans, herons, fish eagles and perhaps the rare finfoot and shoebill. Watch out for crocodiles and schools of hippos during the two-hour cruise.
From the boat cruise, you will return to your lodge for leisure and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Game Drive, Visit Igongo Cultural Center & Drive back to Kampala
After your breakfast in the morning, you will go for a memorable wildlife encounter. Driving through various networks of game tracks you will get to see many animals such as zebras, impalas, hippos, elands, buffalos, giraffes, and Uganda kob among others.
You will then drive to Igongo Cultural Centre, to experience the vast collection of artefacts, exhibits of the pastoral culture, history of political changes as well as present-day modernization of agricultural activities in Western Uganda.
You will also get to learn more about the 1520 AD Biharwe Eclipse monument.
You will then depart for your drive back to Kampala. This will mark the end of your Lake Mburo Wildlife Safari.
