Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Fort Portal and Amabere Caves
Enjoy breakfast, then drive to Fort Portal for lunch. Continue to Amabere Ga’nyinamwiru Caves for a guided tour of the caves, stalactites, stalagmites, and nearby waterfalls. Stay overnight at either Mountains of the Moon (Upmarket) or Bellavista Lodge (Midrange). Meals included are lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Journey to Semuliki and Sempaya Hot Springs
Depart after breakfast for a 2-3 hour trip to Semuliki, heading straight to Sempaya Hot Springs to observe natural geothermal activity. You can even cook food using the spring’s heat. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided.
Day 3: Explore Crater Lakes and Move to Kibale Forest National Park
Visit the crater lakes near Fort Portal after breakfast, including the famous Nyinambuga lake, pictured on Uganda’s currency. After lunch and check-out from your lodge, transfer to Kibale National Park. Accommodation is at Kyaninga Lodge (High End) or Primate Safari Lodge (Midrange). All meals are included.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Nature Walk
Start with an early breakfast before heading to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking with a ranger. Observe chimpanzees and other primates, as well as various bird species. Afterward, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a nature walk. Overnight at Kyaninga Lodge or Primate Safari Lodge, with all meals provided.
Day 5: Return to Entebbe
After breakfast, depart your lodge and journey back to Kampala/Entebbe, with a lunch stop on the way. Meals included are breakfast and lunch.
